The RVF’s programs in Georgia are ambitious and cover a wide range of health issues: Help the country eliminate the twin scourges of measles and congenital rubella syndrome (CRS) by the year 2010; prevent the transmission of HIV and hepatitis B from mother to child; ensure the timely treatment of hypothyroidism in newborns.

Even though the country has limited financial resources, the government of Georgia is contributing both money and its own experts to the achievement of these goals.
