Capacity Building
left_corn

Capacity building is the cornerstone to creating self-sustaining programs. Effective capacity building results in a local infrastructure that delivers the targeted health care service in accordance with internationally accepted standards as formulated by the Word Health Organization (WHO). As in all Foundation programs, the ultimate aim is sustainability. All programs are designed to be fully financially sustained by local ministries of health in 3-5 years of the program’s inception.

Capacity building includes the following components:

• Training of key healthcare personnel, who in turn train their staff

• Provision of equipment and supplies based on a comprehensive joint assessment

• Computerization of vaccination reporting systems
